Reverend Karen Fritz

Our pastor, the Rev. Karen Fritz, is down to earth and in love with life. She is also in love with this congregation and all the ways it makes each person feel at home, every time folks gather here in Brighton Center. She celebrates the uniqueness that each character brings to this community. She loves to listen as folks share the stories of their journeys through moments of grace and challenge, and she is amazed at the genuine friendships that evolve in this community of very real people.

Whether she is gathering with folks in prayer, study and worship, or gabbing with guests at the Wednesday Community Supper, or gardening with whoever shows up to enjoy this oasis of green space in Brighton Center, Pastor Karen is grateful for the love of Christ who is gathering and gabbing and gardening with us throughout these moments together.

Her journey led her through the College of Wooster in Ohio, Union Theological Seminary in New York and VISTA. She has served as a nursing assistant, a counselor, a community organizer, and as an urban pastor in Newark and Boston. She has called many places home including Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Wooster, Germany, St. Louis, New York, Atlanta, Newark, Ghana and now Boston.

She lives with her husband, who is also a pastor, and their two adopted sons.
